Vischer Ferry in Clifton Park, New York

 
 
Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve has over 700 acres of wetlands, floodplain and so many amazing birds and different types of amphiban habitat. It runs along the shoreline of the Mohawk River. Vischer Ferry also forms the southern boundary of Clifton Park, NY. 

Vischer Ferry has a lot of history as well. It includes national historic treasures of two Erie Canal towpath trailers, Forts Ferry, and Historic Double Lock 19. This is also a Bird Conservation area designated by the NYS Department of Enviromental Consveration. There are over 200 different bird species that are being observed at Vischer Ferry.

At Vischer Ferry Nature & Historic Preserve there is quite a few activites you can enjoy.

They have some of the best Natural trails to walk and hike, You can even snowshoe or cross country ski them in the winter so you can enjoy the beautiful winter views as well.

They have over 200 species of birds, so if you enjoy bird watching, this is the place for you. You will be able to spend as long as you want just seeing different birds and appreciating their beauty.

Also at Vischer Ferry there is also a nice picnic area that you can have lunch at or just be able to enjoy the views from. 
 

As you can see, Vischer Ferry is very important to the city of Clifton Park and surrounding areas. It is important to the wildlife, the people and the city itself.
